Litoral

Driving from Portimão to Lisbon we decided to stop for a quick lunch and, as we always prefer to eat local instead of fast food, the Restaurante Litoral in Grândola became our goal. Even though it looked very modest from the outside, we were absolutely astonished by what we experienced inside! Fantastic family atmosphere created by friendly warm staff members. Although Portuguese was the only language to communicate (..well none of us could speak that beautiful language 😊) somehow… using Google, hands’n’smiles and with lots of fun we managed to order THE BEST FOOD of all the restaurants we visited during our stay in Portugal!!! Tasty mussels (also in a surprising combination of pork’n’mussels!!!), homemade chips, salad with gorgeous dressing and all of those preceded by a delicious local cheese as starter! Absolutely highly recommended!!! Simply stop by, order and experience HEAVEN!!! Obrigado!!!

What a find! We were getting pretty desperate for dinner - it was nearly 9pm and all the restaurants in Grândola were either full or closed. We decided to walk to Litoral and were not disappointed. The dourada was fantastic and served with simple but extremely flavourful vegetables. Remember to ask about the price of the fish as it is on the menu in €/kg - we over-ordered and were a bit surprised by the bill. But it was totally worth it.

On our way back home we were looking for a place to eat and found this restaurant on Google. As many reviews mention, the place doesn't look fancy, at the first glimpse it actually seems to be closed but the food is so amazing. We had the Carne de porco Alentejana and it was the best we ever had so far. The sauce was delicious and the portions are big! So good was the food that we even forgot to take a picture of it 😅The service is friendly and fast. We recommend it!

As we don't speak Portuguese, it was difficult for us to choose from the menu. However even with the language barrier the staff and mostly the owner were very friendly and proposed to cook for us a large fish from the display. They proposed potatoes ( in fact a plate of delicious veggies ) and a salad (the sauce was just a perfection) and to drink a white wine from Alentajo ( which was very good). The fish was simply cooked on a pan with coriander.. it was really good and a plemty for the 3 of us. To end the meal we were took yellow melon sweet and juicy. Less gha 100 € for 3 for such a premium meal is really reasonable. We definitely recommend stoping there.
